Frayed or rusty cables on a harbour or canal property
Why it happens
Constant salt exposure corrodes the steel strands, especially near the bottom of the door where the cable meets the bracket.
Why it matters
A weakened cable can snap, dropping one side of the door and leaving it jammed. Signs to watch for: rust on the cable near the floor, loose or unravelling strands, door hanging lower on one side.
Response
Garage door cable repair replaces corroded cables and checks the drums and bottom brackets, followed by a full balance check.
